The Holiday season is upon us and we’re here with some suggestions for those last minute gift ideas. With amazon, FedEx, UPS, and the USPS already overwhelmed with deliveries, you may choose to brave the crowds for those last minute gifts.
Austin Shopping
There are several great spots for all in one shopping in the Austin area including the Galleria at Bee Caves, Barton Creek Mall, and the Domain for more high end choices, like Chanel, 7 For All Mankind, and Sephora.
All of the places also feature restaurants and spots for snacking and relaxing.
If you’re local, the Domain and the Galleria at Bee Caves also feature Yoga studios, fitness centers, and my favorite European Wax Center.
If you prefer to support local businesses, most of these places also host farmers and crafters markets. You can’t go wrong with the Bee Caves Farmers Market, Barton Creek Farmers Market, the Domain Farmers Market, or the Arboretum Food & Artisan Market. All are free to enter, and many feature live music or Dj’s, and even an early morning yoga style stretch.
Dallas Shopping
Dallas is a huge MetroPlex with many shopping experiences to choose from.
From top shopping destinations like NorthPark Center, Highland Park Village, Mockingbird Station, and Galleria Dallas to smaller gems in neighborhoods like the Design District and Knox/Henderson, you’ll find big name items and local crafts for everyone on your list.
The Dallas Farmers Market also regularly features local craftsmen and farm fresh, organic products. The Market Building, Farmers Market at The Shed, The shops at The Harvest Lofts, and the shops at The Taylor Lofts all feature local bites and crafts, from organically sourced food to pantry staples and handmade items, check them out for unique presents or artisan foods for your Holiday dinners.
Houston Shopping
The City of Houston, also a booming Metro area, including outliers such as Katy and Pearlland offer great shopping without the downtown traffic hustle and bustle.
The best all in one shopping includes their own Galleria, The Plaza, Memorial City, and Katy Mills Mall. Many of these popular shopping spots also feature food courts and even Ice skating rinks seasonally.
Again, if you like to support local farmers, crafts, or enjoy shopping small or second hand, The Azteca Farmers Market, Eleanora’s Market, Urban Harvest Market, and the Sunny Flea Market offer locally sourced foods like homemade jams, pies, and even fresh meats. Local artisans and anything from clothing to home and garden, these spots will tickle your eclectic and thoughtful gift giving ideas.
